In Retrospect {August & July & June }

I've been kind of  extremely occupied lately, with the stress of O levels (basically final year exams) ever since May. So I've decided to compile what happened since then (the stuff that was captured on camera, anyway) and share with you.

If you want to stay updated on what happens in my life, feel free to check out my:
  • instagram  where I (try) to regularly post photos that I try to take to fufil my inner photography-ness
  • studyblr (basically a tumblr focused on studies) where I try to post an update daily on my progress and what I've done during the day, as an attempt to motivate myself and also as a wake-up call to life (as I also post countdowns to O level exams)
Enjoy!

Please note: all these photos belong to me; please do not use without explicit permission from the owner (that's me) (I'll be very sad).

August goals + update

Hey all! I know I haven't been active in the blogging community these few months, and it's all because of studying (and some other stuff, including procrastination, but that's not the point).

July has been slightly stressful. O levels papers are in 70 something days, English Oral examinations on 29 August and Science Practical exams are scheduled on the 13th September. And I'm not prepared yet.

Let's, however, go through the goals I have set for July:

1. Complete 100 hours of studying, which are tracked using this printable I designed can be found here. Currently at around 23ish hour.

Yes! I did manage to finish 100 hours by 31 July.

2. Read at least 2 physical paperback (or hardcover) books, one being Discussions of Youth which was actually my to-read books for Feb 2015 which you can see here.

Well, not really. You see, after I moved house, I couldn't find that book Discussions of Youth. I did finish two paperback books. I'm currently on Humanism and the Art of Medicine by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, being interested in the prospect of medical school after my high school (equivalent) studies.

Also I currently have in my book bag Front Lines by Michael Grant, which I am very excited to get my hands on after searching it high and low in different library branches.

3. Maximise of pockets of time by bringing along loose worksheets and exam questions to attempt instead of using the phone when I go out (e.g. while waiting for food to come at the coffee shop).
Yes! I have done so many past year exam papers for English and other assignments and fully utilised my spare time (unless I'm in a Wattpad mood).

August goals:
1. Try to finish 100 hours before the end of August

2. Sleep at least 7.5h (ideally 9 hours) daily [I'm experimenting with the 1.5h sleep cycles, hence these numbers]

3. Try to finish academic targets set by self (not including it here because it's a bit irrelevant and perhaps a bit of a bore to you)

4. Finish a faith book

If you would like to see more of what I have been up to, you can always check out my studyblr where I will be updating more frequently than here.

What are your goals and targets for August?

Questions

Team? Singapore!

If you could compete in an event, what would it be? Hm football would be nice (when/if I'm up to the standard).

Favourite event to watch? Football is always nice to watch. Swimming is also cool though. I'm not really sure (I haven't watched Olympics since 2012, didn't have time to watch it this year [please don't kill me]).

Olympian you most admire?
I don't really know any of the Olympians, but Joseph Schooling I guess. He's the one who clinched gold (the first ever for Singapore!) for Mens 100m Butterfly category, beating his idol, Michael Phelps. It was really exciting for us when he actually came in first!

What sports do you currently play?
Futsal (football/soccer, in a smaller court) and captain's ball.

Summer or Winter Olympics?
Summer.

Ever been to the Olympics in person?
No. Maybe one day I will, though that's not on the top of my list of priorities.
[Sidenote: I was actually present in the ASEAN Para-Games last year!]

A sport that should be in the Olympics?
Captain's ball.

What do you think would be going through your head right before you were about to compete in the Olympics?
I'd probably be nervous, but at the same time I'd be telling myself to have fun and do my best out there.
